Chickens for next year…
With fingers crossed we can say things are looking better for next year. There are far fewer cases of bird flu now compared with this time last year, and far fewer restrictions in place on back garden chicken keepers; maybe we can even begin to hope that Defra have a sensible plan in place going forward!
The first chicks for 2024 have now hatched and all being well they will be available here at point of lay in February, there is a range of breeds and more available in March. With so many people unable to get their chickens this year we already have lots of enquiries for next years hens, so if you are planning to increase your flock in the spring we recommend placing an order as soon as possible. The breeds available in Feb can be ordered as ‘next flock’ on our hybrid page.
